Paint My Bird Day 1, 2 and 3

You know when you have an idea for a new "something" and you think to yourself "this could be really awesome, or it could fail miserably". Well I had both of those thought bubbles floating around in my mind when I decided to start this latest project, and honestly the "fail miserably" one was winning.

But I am very happy to say that it's day 3 and this is the most fun I have had with a project for quite a while! Yay! Instead of getting caught up worrying about whether or not people will like or want to buy what I create, I have designed this project around a Pay What You Like system, so there's no barrier, and it also takes the pressure off me to create a "sell-able" product. And guess what?? They're all selling. For all different amounts too, and I'm totally OK with that.

I am loving how people have gotten involved and sent me suggestions and photos for birds to paint. And I love how when I sit down to paint I don't even know what's going to end up on the page, I just start and see where it goes. No editing or re-doing. Just the raw creation. It's been very liberating.

I have a list of over 15 birds to paint, so even though my project was meant to go for 10 days I will extend it to paint them all. It's too fun to stop!

Here's what I have so far.

DAY ONE: Kookaburra (5.8x8.3") Watercolour and Unipin Pen

DAY ONE: Kookaburra (5.8x8.3") Watercolour and Unipin Pen

DAY TWO: Goldfinch (5.8x8.3") Watercolour and Unipin Pen

DAY THREE: Peacock (5.8x8.3") Watercolour and Unipin Pen

DAY THREE: Peacock (5.8x8.3") Watercolour and Unipin Pen

That's all for today. I'll be back with another update soon.

Thanks for reading!
